Dr. Stafford graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Following veterinary school, she pursued a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA) in Maryland. She stayed to complete residencies in both internal medicine and emergency/critical care and achieved board certification for both the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and the American College of Veterinary Emergency/Critical Care (ACVECC) in 2012. In 2015, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to work in a large specialty hospital. She joined AVS in 2018 to be closer to family and enjoy warm weather. Her professional interests include immune-mediated diseases, chronic gastrointestinal issues, and stabilization and management of critical patients.
